They say do the things that make you happy but people forget to eat their way to happiness. This too shall be included in your pursuit to happiness. Yes, it’s true that fruits, vegetables, grains, and nuts have a huge effect on your mental health. Just imagining yourself feeling so good inside because of how great nutritious food balances your well being. It will give you lasting energy. Making a decision to be happy and then seeking happiness are two things. But please answer, how do you make a decision? Your mind is made up with your brain. The brain is the director of your life. It controls and directs how your body will function or ‘act’ in your life. So this shows just how crucial it is to eat healthy or should I say ‘brain foods.’
Certain foods can help you stay in good moods and away from the blues. Eat more foods packed with Vitamin D and B, iron, magnesium, and more that triggers the brain to maintain your decision to be happy like beets, tomatoes, spinach, quinoa, etc.Tomatoes is a good example, especially organic. Another good brain minion is Omega 3s which are happy foods. Omega 3s is the top fat that is found in our brain cells which decreases the chances of depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and seasonal disorder that is also called ‘winter blues.’ Seafood contains Omega 3s but If you don’t eat fish, it’s highly recommended that you take fish oil pills. If you’re a vegan or vegetarian, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, walnuts, flaxseed, and canola oil all contain Omega 3s. Watermelon does the body good as well. Do you ever notice, watermelon is eaten mostly during the summer? Not because that’s when it’s in season but because they have lycopene which protects your skin from harsh sun rays and cancer cells. Also, it keeps the body hydrated for obvious reasons like containing mostly water. A hydrated body stays happy as well.
It’s encouraged to stay away from highly processed foods as much as possible. Obviously, this type of eating leads to bad health and an imbalanced of mental well being. Processed foods have toxins that will harm the brain.
This encouraging piece is to help take that step into feeling good inside and out, build confidence and ensure your body is functioning properly. You’ll have a connection with oneself. Remember, it starts from the inside. Make the decision to be happy and then eat to stay in a happy mood. What you seek, you shall find. While seeking within yourself and followed with self help books, or advice from associates and love ones, seek healthy foods. Whole foods. Live foods. Foods that’s good for the soul.
