Brown girls are making their mark on the fashion industry!

Chantel Brown-Young, better known in the fashion world as Winnie Harlow, was a blooming star during her run on America’s Next Top Model (Cycle 21), but her unique look and on camera presence has gained her fame and attention from some of the largest brands in the fashion industry.

Winnie is not your typical model.  At the age of 4-years-old, she was diagnosed with Vitaligo, which is a skin disorder that causes you to lose pigmentation on various parts of your body.  As a child, she was bullied and outcasted because of her skin condition, but that didn’t deter her from going after her dreams.

At just 20-years-old, she has graced London’s Fashion Week, and she has just landed a huge gig with Diesel, as their brand ambassador for their “tolerance, equality and unconditional love” campaign.

Winnie is an inspiration for brown girls every where. No matter the texture of your hair or the shade of your skin, you have to be fearless, and accepting of who you are.
